Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints took game one of a double header 6-3 against South Florida State College on Saturday afternoon in Avon Park, but dropped the second game 15-3 after some costly errors and walks.
Tyler Kinney put the Saints (8-3) on the board in game one, blasting his second homerun of the season to put SF ahead 1-0.  In the third Bailey Metcalf drove in two runs, and Kyle Phillips knocked in another.  Santa Fe added to their lea with two runs on passed balls in the fifth for the deciding margin.
David Lee (2-0) picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits with eight strikeouts.  Troy Bacon pitched the final 1.1 innings for the save, his first of the season.
Game two started off on the right foot with a RBI single by Wyatt Meisterhans, but quickly got away from the Saints after a South Florida grand slam made it 4-1.  SF was never able to recover and committed three big errors and walked eight in route to just their third loss of the year.
Danny Hernandez and Cole Parks had RBI for the Saints in game two.
The FCSAA #5 Saints will continue on the road Monday when they travel to Polk State Colleget for a game at 3:00 PM
