Gainesville, FL – FCSAA #1/Perfect Game #9 Santa Fe College (27-4, 8-1 MFC) on their Mid-Florida Conference bye week, but that didn't stop the Saints from continue their hot hitting ways as they scored 25 runs on 25 hits in a 25-4 victory over LaFleche College (Quebec, Canada) on Friday in Gainesville.
Thirteen SF players got in on the act with at least one hit, 10 had multiple hits, and 13 knocked in runs, led by a five RBI performance from catcher Haydn Cano. Cano, Chad Stockdale, and Dillon Reed all homered. The Saints also recorded eight doubles and two triples.
Santa Fe started the game off with five runs in the first, punctuated by a two out three run homer from Cano. They poured on six in the second, and scored in every inning the rest of the way except the sixth. The biggest inning came in the seventh when the Saints put seven on the board.
David Lee picked up the win, his fourth of the season, after a scheduled two innings of work. Robert Girgis, Kyle Morton, and Anthony Auletta also tossed two innings each, and Call Graham threw the ninth.
The Saints will take a few days off before returning to Mid-Florida Conference play against the team they are tied at the top of the standings with, St. John's River State College (27-5, 8-1 MFC).
