February 3, 2018
Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA #5/Baseball America #14 Santa Fe Saints continued with their winning ways on Saturday afternoon at home, defeating South Florida State College in a pair of games, 4-2 and 6-5.
Mitch Campion was lights out in the first game, striking out 11 with no walks in six innings pitched.
The Saints (8-0) managed only four hits but took advantage of two South Florida State errors to score three of their four runs.  Garrett Mathes drove in the other SF run and also pitched the final inning for his second save of the season.
The second game was all Saints through the first three and a half innings but a four run fourth by the Panthers thanks to Santa Fe errors tied the game at 5-5.
Santa Fe answered in the bottom of the fourth with a run on a two out single by Cade Westbrook that would prove to be the winning run.
Colt Mink earned the win with 3.2 scoreless innings pitched.  Westbrook and Brock Edge had two hits and two RBI each.
The undefeated Saints will travel to Tallahassee CC on Monday for a 3:00 p.m. game.
