Gainesville, FL – For the second straight game the NJCAA #7 Santa Fe Saints (30-6, 11-2 MFC) forced the mercy rule against Lake Sumter State College, defeating the Lakehawks 14-4 in five innings, two days after a 10-2 win in seven innings on Saturday.

Garrett Mathes homered in the fifth, part of a five hit, four walk inning for the Saints.  The final two runs of the bottom of the fifth came on bases loaded walks.

Santa Fe had 12 hits as a team and drew eight base on balls.  Mathes finished 3-for-4 with a homerun and three RBI.  Andrew Eyster was 2-for-4 with a homerun, three runs scored and four RBI.  Jarrett Pico had two hits and Haydn Cano knocked in two runs.

The Saints will finish their three game series with Lake Sumter on Wednesday, April 4 in Leesburg at 3:00 p.m.
