Daytona Defeats Saints, 6-0 and 11-3

Gainesville, FL – The Daytona State Falcons tightened their grip on second place in the Mid-Florida Conference on Tuesday evening, sweeping a double header from the Santa Fe Saints in Gainesville.

The Falcons took game one 6-0, starting the game off with a three run first, and then added three insurance runs in the sixth.  All six DSC runs came with two outs.

In game two, Daytona (25-11, 7-4 MFC) again jumped on the Saints early, scoring seven runs on six hits and three SF errors in the second inning.  They would plate two more in the fifth and two in the sixth for the 11-3 win.

The Saints (17-19, 4-6 MFC) scored two in the third on a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly.  The third run came in the fourth on a Falcons error.

Santa Fe will try and bounce back on the road on Thursday against St. John's River State College in Palatka at 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
