Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints open their 2018 campaign on the road in Clearwater on Saturday, January 27 against three different opponents starting at 11:00 a.m.

The first game will see the FCSAA #9 Saints face off against Polk State College at 11:00 a.m., Abraham Baldwin at 1:20 p.m., and they will wrap up against Palm Beach State College at 3:20 p.m.

"We are really looking forward to getting the season started," said SF Coach Chris Ahern.  "Despite a couple injuries, we are really excited about this group."

The Saints return nine players, including five position players that started a majority of the games last year, and two starting pitchers.

Returning to lead the offense will be centerfielder Natalia Bellinger, infielder Bailee Moll, catcher Raeyle Rouw, outfielder/infielder Haissette Escudero, and outfielder Shelby West.  Returning in the circle to give the Saints some veteran presence will be Allie Sievers, and Kaylan Tucker.

"There is a good mix of speed and power in addition to a good balance of sophomores and freshman," said Ahern.  "We have experience, excitement, enthusiasm, and drive in this group.  We expect some good pitching performances backed up by quality defense."

The first home games for SF will be on Sunday, January 28 against the University of Puerto Rico in a double header at 1:00 p.m.
