Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints came up short in their bid for a postseason spot on Monday afternoon in Leesburg against Lake Sumter State College, falling twice to the Lakehawks.

It wasn't without a fight in game one as the Saints fought back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game with a three run seventh inning.  LSSC answered in the bottom of the seventh to walk off with a win on a two out RBI single.

Emily Yakel had a big offensive game, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.  Kaitlyn Bennett also had three hits and knocked in a run.

The loss in game one officially eliminated SF from playoff contention.

In game two the Lakehawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and added three more in the sixth.  The lone SF run came in the fifth on a passed ball.

Kaitlyn Bennett had two hits, giving her five on the day.

The Saints (27-28-2) will take some time off before returning to the field at home against Indian River State College on Aril 27 at 2:30 p.m.
