THIRTEEN SF ATHLETES ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICANS; 41 OVERALL EARN ACADEMIC HONORS

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints turned in a good season on the courts and diamonds, including an FCSAA baseball championship, but outdid themselves in the classroom, placing 41 on all-academic teams, including 13 All-Americans.  All five sports had at least one All-American.

The highest award given by the National Junior College Athletics Association is the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence.  The Saints placed one individual in this prestigious category, volleyball player Farah Rajaee who maintained the required 4.00 GPA.

Winners of the Award for Superior Academic Achievement (3.80-3.99 GPA) include: women's basketball player Morgan Sams, fastpitch player Destiny Carroll, baseball player Alex Kennell, and volleyball player Julie Fuchs.

Winners of the Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement (3.60-3.79 GPA) include: fastpitch players Keysha Gordon and Elizabeth Benson; men's basketball player Josh Hawkins; baseball players Cole Parks, Kyle Morton, and Chad Stockdale; volleyball player Nadine Williams; and women's basketball player Corey Staples.

Honorees on the FCSAA State All-Academic team include:

Women's Basketball - Adriana Alises, Evelina Avleeva, Arianna Emanuel-Wright, Sonya Franklin, Moneisha Goldsborough, Tabitha Odabe, Tatiyana Rock, Morgan Sams, and Corey Staples. Men's Basketball – Josh Hawkins.  Volleyball – Nadine Williams, Julie Fuchs, Massiel Castillo, and Farah Rajee.  Fastpitch – Elizabeth Benson, Lauren Bolander, Destiny Carroll, Kayla Fernandez, Paola Flores, Keysha Gordon, and Megan Schuster.  Baseball – Matt Allen, Alex Kennell, David Lee, Kyle Morton, Cole Parks, Kyle Phillips, Dillon Reed, and Chad Stockdale.

Honorees on the Mid-Florida Conference All-Academic team:
