A close fourth set saw the Saints dig deep but succumb to St. Petersburg College's offensive play in a 1-3 loss on Tuesday, September 10 with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 12-25 and 21-25.

The Titans, currently ranked fifth in Florida College State Activities Association (FCSAA) standings, managed to keep the Saints at bay with tough serves throughout the match.

"St. Pete had us on our heels all night with their serving," stated Saints head coach Nick Cheronis. "We managed it most of the night, but in the end our serve-receive broke down."

Bright spots for the Saints saw Madison Sheffield with 12 kills and sophomore outside hitter Alicia Marzullo with eight kills on a .438 hitting percentage.

Looking forward to earning a win at home, the Saints (2-6) will have the rest of the week to prepare for a pair of matches on Saturday, September 14 against Florida Gateway College at 10:00 a.m. and Indian River State College at 2:00 p.m.
