This week's Alumni Spotlight is Ryan Yarborough, who played Baseball from 2010-2012!
Yarborough is a 6'5 left-handed pitcher who toed the mound for the Saints in 2011 and 2012. He grew up in Lakeland, Florida and carried an 8-1 record with a 2.15 ERA for Santa Fe.
Yarborough and his team went combined 74-24 during the 2011 and 2012 seasons, achieving two Mid-Florida Conference Championships and was named First Team Mid-Florida Conference and Second Team All-State in 2012.
Following two seasons at Santa Fe, Yarborough signed to play at Old Dominion University where he spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons for the Monarchs. At Old Dominion, Yarborough compiled a 6-7 record in 86 innings of work, tallying 64 strikeouts. He posted a 3.89 ERA in 2014 prior to being selected in the fourth round (111th overall) by the Seattle Mariners.
Yarborough advanced to AA with the Mariners organization before being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016. Yarborough made his Major League Debut with the Rays in 2018, going 16-6 on the year with a 3.91 ERA. In the last three years, Yarborough has suited up for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2023-24), Kansas City Royals (2023), Toronto Blue Jays (2024) and the New York Yankees.
Yarborough concluded the 2025 Season with the Yankees with a 4.36 ERA in 64.0 innings. He has maintained his role on the Yankees 40-man roster and just recently inked a one year, $2 Million dollar deal with the Yankees for the 2026 season.
Through eight years in the MLB, Yarborough is 56-41 covering 76 starts and 139 relief appearances with five organizations.
