This week's Alumni Spotlight is Josh Edwards, who played Men's Basketball from 2006-2007!
Edwards was a forward who came to Santa Fe after one year playing at South Georgia Tech in Americus, Georgia. After Santa Fe, Edwards signed to St. Catharine College in Springfield, Kentucky where he spent his remaining college eligibility playing for the Wildcats.
The 2006-07 Saints went 26-5, including a 14-1 conference slate. The teams 26 wins were the most in a season since 2000-01 when the Saints went 26-8
After two seasons at NAIA St. Catharine College, Edwards began his coaching career at Chattahoochee High School as the Freshman Boys Head Coach and Varsity Assistant in 2012-13, after that, Edwards jumped to the college level at the University of Pikeville where he became an assistant women's basketball coach for the Bears.
Edwards then took a position at the College of Southern Idaho where he was an assistant women's basketball coach for seven years from 2015-2022 before stepping into the role of Director of Video and Strategy at BYU for their women's basketball program. In 2023, Edwards rose to the Director of Player Development.
Since starting at BYU, the Cougars have gone 54-52 with Edwards on staff, including a strong 9-1 start to the 2025-26 season. His record as an assistant at Southern Utah was 162-55.
