Zion McRae is this week's Tuesday Teammate of the Week!

McRae is a 5'6" guard from Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from The Villages High School and she's now pursuing a degree in Sports Management. 

The freshman appeared in 26 games this season, leading the team in scoring with 13 points per game on 37.9% shooting. The guard shot the ball well from behind the 3-point arc, hitting the 3 ball at 38.5%. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, reaching double digit scoring in 20 games. McRae also recorded a 11 point, 10 rebound, 3 assist double-double vs Hillsborough on February 28th. 

McRae uplifts her teammates, bringing energy day in and day out. Her leadership on and off the court highlights her integrity and contribution to Santa Fe Women's Basketball. Her team player mindset is evident in all that she does, and when she's not getting buckets, she enjoys spending time with her little sister! In addition, her hobbies include listening to music and spending time with her friends and teammates.

UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine sponsors a "Teammate of the Week" selection from all five Santa Fe Saints sports teams. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), the SF sport specific coaches, and the athletic director nominate deserving Saints for this weekly award.  Teammates of the week will embody the character qualities the SAINTS (Seek, Aware, Integrity, Noble-Minded, Thankful, and Safe) emphasize and value.  SF Student-Athletes who impact their team, community, classmates, and families for the better are the best candidates for this weekly award hosted by proud SF partner UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
