UF Ortho Teammate Selection: Emily Geaquinto
This week's Tuesday Teammate of the Week is Emily Geaquinto!
Gainesville, FL
Emily Geaquinto is this week's Tuesday Teammate of the Week!
Geaquinto recently completed her freshman year at Santa Fe as both a setter and outside hitter for the Santa Fe Volleyball. The 6'0 hybrid player is a graduate of St. John Paul II Academy and is a Boca Raton, Florida native, choosing Santa Fe for its closeness to her hometown.
Prior to choosing Santa Fe, Geaquinto was a varsity starter who earned Capital Hill MVP nods in 2023 and 2024 (1st place finisher), as well as a nomination for Palm Beach Post Mid-Season Player of the Year.
She then brought her talents and resume to Santa Fe and immediately made an impact for the Saints, appearing in 23 matches during her first season. She averaged 1.82 kills per set, 2.37 assists per set, and 2.10 digs per set. Her best match came against Lake-Sumter State College when she hit .381 with 10 kills and 9 assists.
With her growing resume and ability to play two positions, Giaquinto's presence as a versatile team-player helped uplift her teammates around her, both on and off the court. She is someone noted by teammates and coaches alike to go above and beyond for her teammates and is always willing to help out and assist.
UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine sponsors a "Teammate of the Week" selection from all five Santa Fe Saints sports teams. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), the SF sport specific coaches, and the athletic director nominate deserving Saints for this weekly award. Teammates of the week will embody the character qualities the SAINTS (Seek, Aware, Integrity, Noble-Minded, Thankful, and Safe) emphasize and value. SF Student-Athletes who impact their team, community, classmates, and families for the better are the best candidates for this weekly award hosted by proud SF partner UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
