UF Ortho Teammate Selection: Cornelius White
This week's Tuesday Teammate of the Week is Cornelius White!
Gainesville, FL
Cornelius White is this week's Tuesday Teammate of the Week!
White is native to Gainesville, taking his talents from next door from Gainesville High School to join the Saints for his first season in 2025-26. A 6'7 freshman, he appeared in 22 games as a forward for the Saints. Looking to build on his first-year performance, White will be returning to Santa Fe for his sophomore year.
White's return comes on the heels of a freshman season in which he proved to be a late riser. Closing out the season against St. Petersburg college, he posted 20 points on 7-11 shooting, as well as 9 rebounds. His impressive effort helped to close out the Saints' 19 win season with a dominant 80-66 victory. White's patience and determination helped him earn quality play in limited action as a freshman, which he looks to continue building on next year as the Saints return all seven freshman from a season ago.
Both on and off the court, White brings a welcoming presence to the Santa Fe atmosphere. His positive attitude has been noted as standout by his peers in athletics, from the coaches and staff to his fellow student-athletes that he shares the basketball court with. His personality is one that fits right in with Santa Fe's hospitable culture.
UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine sponsors a "Teammate of the Week" selection from all five Santa Fe Saints sports teams. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), the SF sport specific coaches, and the athletic director nominate deserving Saints for this weekly award. Teammates of the week will embody the character qualities the SAINTS (Seek, Aware, Integrity, Noble-Minded, Thankful, and Safe) emphasize and value. SF Student-Athletes who impact their team, community, classmates, and families for the better are the best candidates for this weekly award hosted by proud SF partner UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
