Santa Fe Softball recognized during the June District Board of Trustees Meeting
Gainesville, FL
Santa Fe Softball was recognized at the Santa Fe College District Board of Trustees Meeting held on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026.
The team was honored and recognized by Florida Rep. Kat Cammack as the team was presented with a letter of recognition for their NJCAA DI Softball World Series appearance and Top-6 finish nationally. Each player was also presented with a challenge coin along with a surprise invitation to the Capitol, including a tour of the White House and other notable landmarks, in preparation of the annual congressional softball game played at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
Each year, Members of Congress take on the DC press in a friendly bipartisan women's softball game to raise both funds and awareness for the Young Survivors Coalition (YSC), a global organization who supports young adults who are diagnosed with breast cancer. The game has raised over 4.3 million dollars for the YSC and will be played on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:35pm. You can read more about the game details here: Congressional Women's Softball Game
