Brooks Walton turned in another gem on the mound in the opener and two Panther pitchers shutout the Saints in the nightcap with the Saints winning game one 2-0 and dropping game two 4-0.
Walton (3-1) pitched a four-hit shutout in the opener with one walk and six strikeouts.
"Walton was outstanding again keeping their hitters off balance by throwing all his pitches for strikes," said SF head coach Johnny Wiggs. "He had command of both sides of the plate."
The Saints scored in the first when Nick Herndon led off the game and scored one out later on a double by Luis Rodriguez. Herndon's safety extended his hitting streak to 12 games. He did not play in game two. The RBI by Rodriguez was his team leading 19th of the season.
Coy Phillips led off the seventh and scored an insurance run three batters later on a sacrifice fly by Jevin Relaford.
Dylan Kelley and Myles Caba kept the Saints bats quiet in the nightcap with Kelley going the first six innings and Caba closing out the shutout. Brad Lord (0-1) took the loss.
"We weren't very good offensively today," said Wiggs. "We just need to be more consistent and get more quality at bats."
The Saints will get right back at it on Monday when they travel to Tallahassee to take on TCC in a game scheduled to start at 4 pm.
