Santa Fe scores 17 runs off 16 hits in a very offensive heavy game

The bottom of the lineup helped Santa Fe capture a 17-3 victory over Florida State College at Jacksonville on Tuesday at Santa Fe College. Matt Hall, Ethan Monrad, and Wyatt Tesar combined for eight of the team's 16 hits in the victory. They scored four runs and drove in five.
Santa Fe jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Akhil Nimmala singled, scoring two runs, Peyton Brenneman hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs, and Monrad singled, scoring one run.
They added eight more runs in the bottom of the second inning on six hits. Samuel Castillo singled, scoring two runs, Brenneman hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Tesar singled, scoring one run, Monrad singled, scoring one run, and James Suarez homered to right field, scoring three runs. RBI singles by Brenneman, Tesar, and Hall extended their lead as well.
Ben Monger earned the win for Santa Fe Saints. The starter allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out none and walking two. Stephen Joyce and Easton McMahan each appeared in relief for Santa Fe.
The Saints piled up 16 hits in the game. Hall, Nimmala, and Tesar each collected three hits for Santa Fe Saints. Suarez and Brenneman each drove in three runs for Santa Fe Saints. Monrad and Castillo each collected multiple hits for Santa Fe Saints. Tesar and Castillo each recorded stolen bases.
Santa Fe will travel to Florida SouthWestern for a 9-inning conference game on Thursday, February 26th at 2:00 in Fort Myers, Florida.
