Santa Fe Cannot Hold Onto Lead Versus FSW

Santa Fe Saints (12-10) lost to Florida SouthWestern State College 8-7 on Saturday in game two of the doubleheader.
Despite the loss, the Saints did collect 12 hits in the high-scoring affair.
A single by Aiden Talarico put FSW on the board in the top of the second.
Santa Fe Saints took the lead in the bottom of the second. Maddox Lee doubled, scoring two runs, to give Santa Fe Saints the advantage, 2-1.
Jonah St. Antoine singled to center field, which helped the Bucs tie the game at two in the top of the third.
A solo home run to right field by Ryan Chase gave Santa Fe the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third.
Nick April-Gath hit a sacrifice fly, which helped FSW tie the game at three in the top of the fourth.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Santa Fe went back into the lead after Ryan Chase singled to left field, and James Suarez grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
The Bucs, however flipped the game on its head in the top of the ninth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 8-7.
Kaden Howell pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Santa Fe Saints. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs while, striking out one and walking four. Caleb Clanton started on the mound for Santa Fe Saints. The starter gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four.
Santa Fe Saints piled up 12 hits in the game. Ryan Chase led Santa Fe Saints with three hits in five at bats. Maddox Lee, Ryan Chase, and Samuel Castillo each drove in two runs. Cole Carnell collected two hits in four at bats.
The Saints will not play a non-conference game this week but will resume conference play with the first game vs College of Central Florida on Thursday March 5th at 2:00pm
