Live Oak, FL
Santa Fe Men's Basketball improved their record to (6-1) with a 84-71 victory over Florida Gateway College (3-7). The win marks their second of the season over Florida Gateway and is their first season sweep over the Wolves since the 2022-23 season.
The game was contested early, as the Saints came out slower than anticipated in the first half and were held to just 32 points as a team. At the halftime buzzer, the Saints still held a 3 point advantage over Florida Gateway 32-29. The second half was much different and largely controoled by Santa Fe, outscoring Florida Gateway 52-42 securing their first sweep of the 2025-26 season.
Joel Harrison led all scorers with 16 points, along with contributions from Guy Twitty (14), Tre Dubois (14), Harvey Wilson (12), and Moses Horne (12). Twitty also snatched 7 rebounds and Harvey Wilson added 5 blocks for the afternoon.
"Joel and Harvey came in and chaged the game for us with their play in the second half" noted Head Coach John Ritzdorf. "We did a much better job attacking their pressure in the second half and that helped us get into rythym offensively."
The Saints look to continue their winning ways on Monday, November 24th at 7:30pm vs Mid-Florida Academy in the Santa Fe College Gymnasium.
