Saints Win Over Chipola
Sanford, FL- The Saints played their second matchup of the day at the Courney Miller Invitational against Chipola College. It was a hard-fought game with strong defense and breakthrough hitting. The Saints were able to earn their first win of the day after losing 7-5 against Gulf Coast State. The final score of this contest was 4-3.
How It Happened
The Saints struck first scoring two runs in the first inning. Alexis Daphney scored on a single by Karris Rhine, making the score 2-0.
Chipola scored twice in the third inning to tie the game. In the top of the fourth inning, Heaven Bibbs singled on a ground ball to right field. Paula Ocrospoma scored a run putting Chipola ahead 3-2.
It wasn't until the sixth inning that the Saints would score another run. Kamaya Cohen hit a RBI double to left field to score Aliana Mercado and Sydney Fowler.
Mallory Forrester came in to relieve Ryleigh Bauer to successfully close the game. Saints win over Chipola 4-3.
