#6 Saints Sweep #9 Titans with Game 2 Seventh-Inning Comeback
Camryn VanGalder batted three-for-three in Game 2 with the go-ahead single in the seventh

#6 Santa Fe College (27-6, 12-5) traveled to #9 Eastern Florida State College (26-8, 12-6) on Thursday, March 26th. The Saints won the first game 6-3 and won the second game 4-3.
Game 1
Miranda Murch followed up a Sydney English single with a home run to put the Saints up 2-0 in the top of the first inning.
Santa Fe added two more runs in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 4-0. Mckenzie Cox scored on an error, and English scored from a Murch fly out.
After allowing a run in the bottom of the fifth and two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3, the Saints scored two insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Molly Bender hit a leadoff double and came home from a single by Cox. Laura Pierce scored the second run of the inning with a fly out by Ellie Frierson.
The Titans hit three singles in a row to load the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh. The Saints ended the inning unscathed by forcing a fly out and a ground out, securing the 6-3 victory.
Belle Mancillas pitched all seven innings for Santa Fe, recording two strikeouts and giving up six hits, four walks, and three runs.
Mckenzie Cox, Sydney English, and Miranda Murch all recorded two hits for the Saints. Tegan Grizzard led the team with two walks and two stolen bases.
Game 2
A pair of Saints errors in the bottom of the second allowed the Titans to take a 3-0 lead.
A Titans error allowed Molly Bender and Rylie Blankenship to score and cut the Saints' deficit to 3-2.
Ellie Frierson hit a leadoff single in the top of the seventh, and Laura Pierce subbed in as a pinch runner. Blankenship also singled, and a single by Camryn VanGalder brought home Pierce and Blankenship and gave the Saints the lead 4-3.
The Titans hit a leadoff double and drew a walk in the bottom of the seventh, but they popped out and then Miranda Murch ended the game with an impressive solo double play.
Morgyn Stevens started and earned the win for the Saints, recording three strikeouts while giving up four hits and three runs over six innings. Chloe Woods ended the game with a walk and no runs allowed in the final inning.
Camryn VanGalder led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Rylie Blankenship and Molly Bender both stole a base.
The Saints will host Polk State College on Saturday, March 28th for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00pm.
