#5 Santa Fe Sweeps College of Central Florida
The Saints improve to 36-8, 21-7 in Conference

Santa Fe (36-8, 21-7) traveled to the College of Central Florida (13-31, 4-24) on Tuesday, April 14th. The Saints won the first game of the doubleheader 13-0 and won the second game 8-2.
Game 1
Molly Bender hit a leadoff home run to give the Saints a 1-0 lead to start the game.
The Saints loaded the bases in the top of the second but were unable to extend their lead.
Santa Fe scored six runs in the top of the fourth to extend the lead to 7-0. Tegan Grizzard singled, stole second, and came home on a bunt by Rylie Blankenship. Blankenship scored on a single by Camryn VanGalder. Mckenzie Cox and Sydney English both drew two-out walks to load the bases, and VanGalder scored on an error induced by Murch. Ellie Frierson hit a single to score Cox and English, and Murch scored on a single by Haylee McCrea.
The Saints added six more runs in the top of the sixth to give them their 13-0 lead. Cox hit a leadoff double, and Murch homered to bring the pair home. Gabby Grieco walked and came home on a double by McKenna O'Sullivan and a single by Hannah Hargrave. O'Sullivan and Hargrave scored on an error induced by Laura Pierce, and Pierce came home on a Bender single.
Morgyn Stevens retired the first three batters of the bottom of the sixth to secure the shutout for the Saints.
The Saints recorded 12 hits as a team, with Molly Bender and Camryn VanGalder both recording two. Four Saints recorded two RBIs (Bender, Miranda Murch, Ellie Frierson, and Laura Pierce), and Tegan Grizzard stole three bases.
Belle Mancillas earned the win, recording three strikeouts and allowing one hit and one walk over four innings pitched. Morgyn Stevens pitched two relief innings, recording two strikeouts and giving up one walk.
Game 2
The Saints scored four runs in the top of the third to take a 4-0 lead. Molly Bender scored on a fielder's choice hit by Mckenzie Cox, Cox scored on a Miranda Murch single, and Murch and Ellie Frierson scored on a double by Haylee McCrea.
Sydney English scored on a single by Rylie Blankenship to extend the lead to 5-0 in the top of the fifth.
Central Florida scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but Santa Fe added three runs in the top of the seventh to go up 8-2. Hannah Hargrave tripled and scored on a passed ball. Blankenship walked and scored by stealing second, advancnig to third on a wild pitch, and coming home on a ground out by Camryn VanGalder. Bender doubled and scored on a single by Cox.
Central Florida singled twice with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but struck out and grounded out to end the inning.
Miranda Murch, Ellie Frierson, and Hannah Hargrave all recorded two hits. Mckenzie Cox and Haylee McCrea recorded two RBIs, and Camryn VanGalder drew two walks. Rylie Blankenship stole two bases.
Chloe Woods started on the mound, recording three strikeouts and allowing two hits and one walk over four innings. Morgyn Stevens ended the final three innings with two strikeouts, five hits, two walks, and two earned runs.
The Saints will host #15 Miami Dade College (26-15, 18-12) on Saturday, April 18th for a doubleheader starting at 12:00pm.
