Buchanan Claims FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week Distinction
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Jasani Buchanan of Santa Fe women's basketball, a sophomore guard from Decatur, Ga., has been selected as the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week based on her play from March 1 to March 7.
With the selection, Buchanan has automatically been submitted for NJCAA Player of the Week consideration.
Santa Fe went 2-1 in Central Conference play on the week, in large part due to the contributions from Buchanan on both ends of the floor. For the week in the Saints' three games, she averaged 12.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game.
Buchanan recorded a double-double in the 65-56 win over Florida State College of Jacksonville, which included 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds. Her rebounding prowess continued to be on display in the 71-65 win at Daytona State, as she fnished with nine points to go along with 14 rebounds.

Santa Fe (3-7, 2-4 CC) is set to host Indian River State College on Wednesday, March 10 at 5:30 p.m., and the game will be streamed live via the Saints Sports Network.
