Saints drop to even series with Eastern Florida
Santa Fe hosts Eastern Florida for the second time this season.
Gainesville, FL
Santa Fe (3-9) hosted Eastern Florida (6-11) and fell in a close 48-50 matchup on Saturday in Gainesville.
The 2:00 tip got off to a slower start than the first game, with each team's defense coming out strong and limiting scorers on both sides. At the end of the first quarter, the Saints held a 12-7 advantage.
The second quarter was all Eastern Florida, as they took back the lead and went into halftime with a 24-22 lead over Santa Fe. Both teams played an even, high scoring, third quarter, as the Titans took their two point advantage into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter came down to the wire, and the Titans blocked the Saints 2-pt attempt at the buzzer, giving Santa Fe their ninth loss of the season.
Zion McRae led all scorers with 23 points. Aniyah Anderson was the only other Saint in double figures.
The Saints do not take the court until Saturday, January 17th at 2:00 as they take on Miami Dade at 2:00pm.
