Nationally Ranked Saints Open Season on the Road August 22, at Home August 23

Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA ranked #4/NJCAA #16 Santa Fe Saints are ready to kick off the season on Tuesday, August 22 when they travel to FCSAA #2/NJCAA #4 Polk State College for a matchup with the always talented Eagle team.  The two teams met in the national semi-finals last season, with Polk finishing third in the nation and the Saints fourth. 

First serve Tuesday night is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.  Santa Fe will open their home portion of the schedule one night later on August 23 at 7:00 p.m. against Lake Sumter State College.

Coach Nick Cheronis returns seven players from the fourth best team in the country a year ago.  Leading the way is outside hitter Sterling Williamson, and middle blockers Meagan Irish and Tina Mayberry.  

After three years playing in the Mid-Florida Conference, SF is now a member of the Panhandle Conference, joining Florida State College-Jacksonville, Pensacola State College, Gulf Coast State College, and St. John's River State College.
