TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Outside hitter Madison Sheffield of Santa Fe College volleyball has been chosen as the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week, based on her two performances from Jan. 18 - Jan. 24. 

With the selection, Sheffield has automatically been submitted for NJCAA Player of the Week consideration.

Sheffield stood out among the other nominees in Region 8, after she recorded a total of 37 kills (5.29/set) in the Saints' first two matches of the season. The sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla. and Bartram Trail High School contributed 17 kills and seven digs in the season-opening sweep of Lake-Sumter State College, then put down 20 kills at No. 4 Polk State. Both kill totals were match-high numbers, and they came efficiently as well, as she hit for a .330 average. 

Sheffield and the Saints next take the floor on Thursday, Jan. 28 at home against Florida Gateway College.
