Saints fall to Lake Sumter
Santa Fe drops a five-set match to Lake Sumter State College

Santa Fe College Volleyball suffers their first loss of the season during Tuesday night's game vs Lake Sumter State College. Both the Saints (2-1) and Lake Sumter (5-0) came into this match undefeated.
The Saints overcame an early deficit, dropping the first set by a score of 15-25. Santa Fe rallied throughout the second set and took their first lead of the match since the first set going up 21-20, and then were able to hold strong to a 26-24 second set victory.
The Lakwhawks took set three in decisive fashion, 10-25. Santa Fe showed how they can battle back, as set four was all Saints. They took a commanding 25-17 victory and forced a decisive 15-point set five.
In the end the Saints fell 8-15 to Lake Sumter, and dropped their first match of the year.
Emily Geaquinto led the way with 11 kills for Santa Fe, while Selena Placide had five bocks.
Santa Fe will head to St. Petersburg on Thursday, August 28th to play the Titans (0-1).
Catch the Saints back at home for a tri-match on Friday, August 29th. They will take on Pasco-Hernando at 11:30am and then Enterprise State at 4:30pm!
