Saints drop to Miami Dade
Santa Fe hosted the #1 NJCAA ranked Miami Dade Sharks at home on Wednesday, September 3rd.

After sweeping Pasco-Hernando State College and beating Enterprise State Community College in a thrilling comeback at home on Friday, August 29th, the Saints (4-3) hosted the #1 Miami Dade College Sharks (5-0) on Wednesday, September 3rd. Here's how the night went:
The Sharks jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first set. Linnea Preston scored a kill for the Saints immediately following a timeout, and Jessica McKee added one of her own while the Saints cut the deficit to 13-7. However, the Sharks were able to cruise to a 25-11 set one win.
Emily Geaquinto put the Saints on the board first in the second set. The Saints maintained a 9-8 lead from kills by Ife Talabi, Linnea Preston, Addison Mittauer, and Selena Placide. The Sharks took the lead at 10-9 and were able to hold on for a 25-16 set two win.
Geaquinto recorded a kill to end a 3-0 Sharks run to start the third set. An ace by Sophie Thompson helped tie the set 3-3, and Saints then added on and went infront 5-4. Miami Dade took control of the third set shortly after, largely supported by a 15 point run. Santa Fe showed some life late, but Miami Dade was able to close out a 25-10 third set win for the match.
Santa Fe will travel to Alabama to play two matches each on Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th.
The Saints will be back at home next week for two matches, as they host St. John's River State College on 9/9 and St. Leo JV on 9/11!
