Saints drop to Falcons
Santa Fe Volleyball hosted Daytona State in a Saturday afternoon match in Gainesville, Florida

Santa Fe Volleyball concluded the Athletics Hall of Fame Induction and Alumni Weekend by hosting Daytona State College for a 2:00 Volleyball match in the Santa Fe College Gymnasium. The Saints fell in all three sets, 23-25, 17-25, 15-25.
Back-to-back kills by Alexia McCray put the Saints up 8-7 in the first set. Kills by Linnea Preston, Kailyn Howard, and Mariana Haas helped increase the lead to 14-9. The Falcons went on a 7-0 run to take a 16-14 lead. A Jessica McKee kill tied the set 20-20, and the set remained tied 23-23. The Falcons won the first set 25-23 via a service ace.
The Falcons got off to a hot start and took an 8-4 lead in the second set. The Falcons extended their lead to 19-11, Emily Geaquinto recorded a kill to put the score at 20-12, and an ace by Haas and block by McKee cut the deficit to 21-16. The Falcons held on to win the second set 25-17.
A kill by Selena Placide and an ace by Haas tied the third set 3-3. An ace put the Falcons up 17-13, and another ace increased their lead to 21-13. The Falcons won the third set 25-15, winning the match 3-0.
The Saints have a short turnaround and are back on the road on Monday, September 22nd for a match vs St. Johns river State College, who they beat 3-2 earlier this month. They will return back to Gainesville on Wednesday, September 24th to play #17 Eastern Florida State College at 6:00pm.
