The Saints made the short trip to St. John River State College on Wednesday night, falling in four sets. The Saints won the first set dominantly 25-12 before losing 13-25, 16-25, and 19-25 in the next three sets to fall to 4-3 on the young season. Coach Bailey Coleman stated, "After the first set St. John's turned it on, and we could not come back. We as a team were not prepared mentally. We have to learn how to thrive off pressure. We need a turnaround for Friday." Santa Fe totaled 9 blocks at the net defensively.
Santa Fe is back in action this Friday at 6:00 PM against USC Lancaster. This is the final home non-conference home match of the season for the Saints. The Saints open up conference play at home vs. Hillsborough Community College at 2:00 PM, September 14th.
